In music class, first graders are always building their song repertoire. The Earthquake Song reinforced safety week practices and learning about the earth and its surface. Girls also build their ensemble skills by taking on solo parts. These solos are sung, played on instruments or danced by the individuals, such as "the chickadees" in the Five Little Chickadees.
