MATH MATERIALS, GAMES & STRATEGIES
Girls have spent a week focusing on the strategy of Counting On when adding numbers. Games have provided practice with building numbers up to 20. We're using a variety of concrete materials with games: connecting cubes (ten train), counters, craft sticks, spinners, and number cubes. We are introducing the place value mat and Base-10 blocks (single cube=1 and long=10) for building two-digit numbers.
