Design & Engineering with Building Materials
As part of our community unit, girls have been designing buildings with a variety of materials.
Girls will be using their building experiences to collaborate in designing buildings for a small scale model of a city and suburb. Literature selections feature architects and architecture including: The World is Not a Rectangle: A Portrait of Architect Zaha Hadid (Jeanette Winter), The Shape of the World: A Portrait of Frank Lloyd Wright (K.L. Going), Look at That Building! (Scot Ritchie), City By the Bay (SF - Tricia Brown), and Citybook (NYC - Shelley Rotner).
