MONEY MATTERS
Girls have started to work with coins and their values: penny, nickel, and dime. In class, we will be playing coin games: Nickel•Penny and Dime•Nickel•Penny. Quarters will be briefly introduced with the concepts of 2 quarters equal 50¢ (doubles number, 25+25) and 4 quarters equal $1.00 (doubles number, 50+50).

Please be sure to make a "bank" at home with these coins for your daughter to play money games and make shopping trips (under $1.00). Our final math game will be "The One Dollar Exchange". Girls will using their knowledge of tens in place value to exchange 10 dimes for $1.00 (or 100¢).
